Ana Iakobashvili is a contemporary artist from Georgia, based in Tbilisi. Born in 1985, she comes from a family of artists and has been connected to art from an early age.

Ana received her academic education first in Painting at the Yakob Nikoladze Art School in Tbilisi, and later continued her studies at the Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, where she graduated from the Department of Theatre Design/Theatre Artist. Alongside developing her personal painting practice and working in her studio, Ana has built a professional career in the visual arts for theatre and film.

She has worked as a production and set designer, costume designer, theatre artist, and puppet artist, and has contributed to a number of theatrical and film productions.

Her film credits include work as a Production Designer, Assistant Art Director, Props Maker, and Costume Designer. Her artistic practice is centered on painting, through which she explores the psychological and philosophical complexity of human existence. Her work examines themes of consciousness, identity, freedom, control, individuality, and the relationship between the individual and society.

Through symbolic imagery, fragmented figures, surreal elements, and carefully constructed compositions, she explores inner states and hidden aspects of human experience. For Ana, surrealism is not an escape from reality, but a way of revealing what exists beneath its visible surface. Her paintings invite the viewer to look beyond the obvious and engage with questions that are often difficult to express through words. Her work has been exhibited in Georgia and Europe, including solo exhibitions In Tbilisi and Frankfurt, and has also been presented internationally. Her paintings are held in private collections in Georgia, Europe, and the United States. Ana continues to work from her studio in Tbilisi, developing her painting practice while drawing on her extensive experience in theatre and film to create works with strong visual narratives, atmosphere, symbolism, and psychological depth.
